About Kevin Hart Stand Up Comedian and Actor

Born as Kevin Darnell Hart (not me!) on July 6, 1979, Kevin Hart is an American comedian, actor, producer, and writer. Kevin Hart was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and he started his career in comedy by entering and eventually winning some amateur comedy competitions across New England.

This culminated his career’s first real break when he was casted back in 2000 for a recurring role in the Undeclared TV series. While the TV series only had one season, Kevin Hart continued to land movie roles the years that followed.

Biography and Personal Life

Born July 6, 1979, Kevin Hart lived with his older brother and was raised by his mother Nancy Hart, a single mother taking the role of both mother and father to the family because of his father’s constant battles with cocaine, as well as the law. Most of Kevin Hart’s life, he has witnessed his father always going in and out of jail. Henry Hart was not always around and it was humor which he found a way to cope with how painful his childhood was.

Even with the struggles and pain of his childhood, it is a great thing that Kevin’s father has since cleaned up and corrected his life. Now, the father and son successfully reconnected and the harsh experience for the tough years before now serve as a source for Hart’s jokes and comedic acts. As such, Hart’s comedy style reflects real life experiences.

Kevin Hart married his former wife comedian Torrie Hart back in 2002. They have two children, Heaven Leigh and Hendrix but they are now divorced. Then in 2014, Kevin Hart got engaged to model Eniko Parrish and the wedding was planned to happen in August 2016.

Some of his notable roles were in the movies including the Paper Soldiers in 2002, Scary Movie 3 in 2003, Soul Plane in 2004, In The Mix by 2005 and the Little Fockers in 2010. Kevin Hart’s acting career continued to grow and so does his comedic reputation especially when his first stand-up album, I’m a Grown Little Man back in 2008.

Kevin Hart’s comedy career continued to flourish with his acclaimed performances in various films including the Think Like a Man in 2012, Grudge Match in 2013, Ride Along back in 2014, About Last Night also  2014 and then Get Hard in just last year.

Kevin Hart’s comedic career was a rough start and he pounded his way through it. It was with the guide of veteran comedian Keith Robinson that his career has a clear direction. The veteran comedian mentored young Hart and he began to perform under his name. Hart created materials from his own experiences and from then on he began performing in clubs all over the country.
